Democrats are telling voters exactly what they plan to do if they win back power — and one conservative commentator says the media is finally being forced to play the tape.
BlazeTV host Sara Gonzales went off this week on the Left's open-border agenda, saying the party has stopped pretending its immigration policy is about anything other than fundamentally remaking the American electorate.
"I'm going to have to remind you guys what this country will look like again with Democrats in power," Gonzales said. "One of their endgames is to flood this country with immigrants to replace us."
Gonzales said she doesn't need to prove her case with spin or interpretation — she just has to "roll the tapes" of Democrats saying it themselves.
"They're just saying it out loud," she added, arguing that the party's leadership has abandoned any pretense of supporting border enforcement as a concept.
Gonzales went further, drawing a historical parallel to the party's darkest chapter.
"The Democrats' plan is always, 'Let's figure out how to make slavery legal again,'" she said.
Her remarks, first reported by Blaze Media, land with the midterm elections exactly one month away — and with Democrats openly predicting a takeover of the House.
House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries told reporters on a Sunday conference call that his party is on track to win back the majority and is expanding the map into deep-red territory, according to ABC News. Jeffries pointed to 2018, when Democrats flipped dozens of seats — many in districts President Donald Trump had carried two years earlier — as the model he expects to repeat.
"The American people are not buying what MAGA Republicans are trying to sell," Jeffries said, per ABC News.
The House Democratic campaign arm added eight more districts to its target list late last week, including seats in Kansas, Oklahoma, Virginia and Washington state, ABC News reported. Early voting is already underway ahead of Election Day on Nov. 3.
Republicans retain a cash advantage, and House Speaker Mike Johnson has kept the conference closely aligned with Trump. The president has promised voters $5,000 cash dividends if Republicans hold the majority — an outlay ABC News noted would carry an estimated cost above $1 trillion and is far from guaranteed to pass Congress. Trump also announced $90 payments to seniors to help cover Medicare premiums.
Democrats are pressing their advantage on gas prices, which remain elevated amid the ongoing war with Iran. Jeffries also claimed that a redistricting push by Trump in Texas, Florida and other states has backfired in some districts, though he cautioned that "anything and everything" is possible in the final stretch.
The two storylines — Gonzales' warning about immigration and Jeffries' confident talk of a sweep — are not separate. If Democrats take the House, they take the gavel, the committee subpoena power, and the ability to block or dismantle the enforcement architecture the Trump administration has spent nearly two years building at the southern border.
That means the deportation operation, the wall construction, the asylum restrictions, and the employer-verification pushes all hang on what happens in roughly five weeks. Democrats have made no secret that reversing those policies is at the top of their list.
For everyday Americans, the stakes are not abstract. Border enforcement levels determine what happens in their towns, their schools, and their labor markets. The 2018 comparison Jeffries is invoking cut the other way for Republicans that year — and Democrats know it.
What Gonzales is arguing, and what the tape she references shows, is that Democrats once felt they had to soften the language of open borders for general-election audiences. That era, she says, is over.
Our Take
Here's the thing Patriots: Sara Gonzales isn't telling you anything Democrats haven't said themselves. She's just refusing to let them whisper it.
When a party's most powerful elected official stands up a month before an election and promises to reprise the 2018 playbook, you should believe him. Hakeem Jeffries is not being subtle. He's telling you the plan. And the plan is to reopen the border, gut ICE enforcement, and pump hundreds of billions back into the NGO pipeline that fuels mass migration into red states.
Remember what that looked like. Tent cities in New York. Migrant flights landing in the dark of night in Florida and Ohio. School districts drained of resources for American kids. Homeless veterans standing in line behind newly arrived single men for shelter beds.
That's not a scare tactic. That's 2021 through 2024.
Democrats know their coalition cannot win on policy anymore. So they're importing voters and calling anyone who notices a racist. Republicans have a cash advantage, a popular president, and a record to run on. What they don't have is the luxury of staying home on November 3.
Early voting is already open in states across the country. If you haven't checked your registration, do it today. If you can vote early, vote early. If you can bring one neighbor, bring two.
The midterms are four weeks out. The other side has already told you what happens if you sit this one out.
