The White House posted an image to its official account on Monday evening with no caption and no accompanying text. The administration has made border security a defining plank of its second term, and its official channels frequently let the results carry the message on their own.
The post landed the same day an exclusive report detailed new figures on illegal crossings along the U.S.-Mexico border.
Apprehensions Fall to Roughly 137,000 for the Fiscal Year
An unofficial report from U.S. Customs and Border Protection reviewed by Breitbart Texas indicates that the number of migrants arrested after illegally crossing between ports of entry fell by nearly 95 percent from the peak of the Biden border crisis.
Roughly 8,900 illegal aliens were arrested in September after crossing the border between ports of entry. That figure brings total apprehensions for the recently closed-out fiscal year to just under 137,000.
The contrast with the prior administration is stark in the raw numbers. In FY23, described in the report as the peak year of the Biden border crisis, Border Patrol agents apprehended 2,475,669 illegal aliens along the southwest border who crossed between ports of entry. The Trump administration is set to report the FY26 year-end number at nearly 137,000 — a 94.47 percent decrease.
Apprehensions fell from 2,135,005 in FY24 to only 443,671 in FY25, according to official CBP reports.
Zero Releases, and a Sixteen-Month Streak
U.S. Customs and Border Protection Commissioner Rodney Scott told Breitbart News that not a single illegal alien had been released by Border Patrol into the interior of the United States after illegally entering the country.
"It's not out officially yet, but we're going to report soon: a full year with no releases from the border," Scott told Breitbart's Matthew Boyle.
That brings the streak to more than 16 months since the Trump administration's new policies on migrant releases went into effect. DHS announced in September that Border Patrol released no illegal aliens into the U.S. interior.
Unaccompanied Minors: From 137,235 to Roughly 7,600
The drop extends to Unaccompanied Alien Children. CBP reported that in FY23, 137,235 UACs were apprehended at the border. That number fell to slightly more than 7,600 UACs in FY26.
The numbers mark the close of the first full fiscal year of President Donald Trump's second administration, during which American border security and immigration policy changed dramatically.
