Assistant Press Secretary Allison Schuster said no administration has done more to uncover waste, fraud, and abuse than President Trump's, citing a pair of recent refund programs as evidence the White House is putting money back in Americans' pockets.
"No Administration has done more to uncover waste, fraud, and abuse than the Trump Administration," Schuster said in a post from the Rapid Response 47 account.
Checks to Seniors and Patients
In a video message, Schuster pointed to two recent rounds of payments. "Just last week, President Trump sent out $90 Medicare checks to over $90 million seniors, sorry, to over $20 million seniors," she said.
The week before, she said, the administration sent out $500 Obamacare refund checks. According to Schuster, that money "came from the Biden administration over charging American patients for the operation of the Obamacare exchange."
Schuster framed the payments as part of a broader pattern. "So continually we see President Trump putting money back in American's pockets, cracking down on waste, fraud, and abuse, increasing transparency," she said.
