The remarks came as the president fielded questions about a new document suggesting Hunter Biden undermined anti-corruption efforts in Ukraine. Trump tied that disclosure to what he said was a broader pattern of misconduct under former President Joe Biden.
Documents 'Speak for Themselves'
Asked about reports that Democrats were trying to cover up the Hunter Biden cases, Trump said: "The documents speak for themselves." He then pivoted to a sweeping indictment of the previous administration.
"The Biden administration was very corrupt... It was a very corrupt, weaponized Administration — and yes, they did a lot of bad things having to do with Ukraine," Trump said.
Corruption 'Surrounding the Desk'
Trump also suggested corruption was not limited to the Bidens themselves, but extended to close aides: "Under Biden and the father and the whole group, they were very corrupt people. The people, especially the people surrounding the desk..." He indicated he would name a specific individual later.
"It was a very corrupt, weaponized administration," Trump repeated. "And yes, they did a lot of bad things having to do with Ukraine."
