TRUMP EXPOSES THE SOMALILAND LIE: Mogadishu’s Flag-Stompers Get U.S. Tax Dollars While Pro-America Somaliland Gets Nothing

President Donald J. Trump has once again cut through decades of diplomatic double-talk with a single truth: Somaliland is a different country from Somalia, and every American taxpayer needs to wake up to the fact that we've been bankrolling the wrong army in the Horn of Africa.

"I call it Somalia Land, not Somaliland, because actually, it's a totally different country," President Trump said. That's not a gaffe, folks. That's a verdict. The foreign policy establishment has spent thirty-five years pretending otherwise, and in doing so, they've funneled American dollars to a government that openly despises the United States while ignoring a nation that reveres it.

The Tale of Two Armies

The contrast couldn't be starker. The Somaliland National Army receives zero foreign aid from any government on Earth. Not one dime of your money. And what does that produce? Zero piracy. Zero terrorism. Zero instability. Zero Chinese footprint. A nation defending itself without a single handout.

Now look at the Somalia National Army. It leans on American aid like a crutch and still cannot defeat al-Shabaab, the terrorist organization that has killed Americans and continues to destabilize the region. During a national mobilization, what did Mogadishu's soldiers do? They stomped the American flag. Boots on the Stars and Stripes. And Washington keeps funding them.

Zero foreign aid, zero piracy, zero terrorism, zero Chinese footprint—and the Somaliland National Army spent the day thanking America while Mogadishu's soldiers put their boots on the Stars and Stripes.

Hargeisa Responds to Trump

In Hargeisa, the capital of the country Mogadishu claims doesn't exist, the National Museum was lit up with a giant portrait of President Trump over the American flag, a police cruiser parked beneath it. That image speaks louder than any U.N. resolution. Somaliland is telling the world exactly where it stands: with America.

The legacy media will no doubt rush to frame Trump's words as a misstatement. The Somali lobby and their enablers in Washington—the same crowd that covered for Representative Ilhan Omar's open loyalty to Mogadishu—will spend the next news cycle trying to bury this. Don't let them.

The Two-Country Truth

The evidence is right in front of us. Your tax dollars are going to a government that can't secure its own territory, can't defeat terrorists, and allows its soldiers to desecrate the American flag. Meanwhile, Somaliland gets nothing and delivers everything: stability, security, and gratitude for American leadership.

President Trump drew the line. The question now is whether Republicans in Congress will have the spine to back him up and demand the accounting. No more blank checks to Mogadishu. No more pretending Somaliland doesn't exist.

Share this if you're done funding failure. The swamp doesn't want you to see these images—too bad, they're already out there.

Interesting piece. Can anyone explain why the U.S. keeps recognizing Mogadishu as the legitimate government when Somaliland declared independence in 1991 and has been self-governing ever since? Seems like we're stuck in outdated Cold War thinking.

YES! About time this got attention! Somaliland deserves recognition!

100% agree. They've earned it.

I work in international logistics and have done business in both regions. Somaliland is peacefUL and open for business while the south is a nightmare of corruption and violence. Our foreign aid should follow results, not obsolete maps drawn by colonial powers.

Finally someone in the media is saying what I've been screaming for years! Somaliland has been a stable, pro-American ally while Mogadishu can't even control its own streets. Why are we sending billions to a government that can't stand on its own two feet?

Exactly right. I deployed to the Horn of Africa and the difference between Somaliland and the south is night and day. Somaliland actually has functioning institutions and democratic elections.

This is what happens when our State Department plays favorites instead of supporting stability. Makes me sick.
