President Donald J. Trump returned to the Peach State on Thursday with a proven record of America First results, hammering Democrats for their open border policies and soft-on-crime stance that he says have cost American lives. The White House said Trump's visit puts Georgia workers, families, seniors, and communities first.
Record of Results for Georgia
Under President Trump's leadership, Georgians are seeing historic tax relief, a surge of private investment and job creation, lower energy costs, support for farmers, the most secure border in a generation, and safer streets.
"President Trump's Working Families Tax Cuts are putting real money back in the pockets of Georgia workers, families, and seniors," the White House stated, adding that crime is falling across Georgia as Trump's immigration enforcement, support for law enforcement, and tough-on-crime policies Make America Safe Again.
The White House framed the election as a clear choice: "continue this progress, or return to the higher taxes, open borders, and failed policies of the past."
Laken Riley's Family Thanks Trump
During the rally, Trump focused heavily on the murder of Laken Riley, a 22-year-old nursing student who was attacked and killed while jogging on the University of Georgia campus in 2024. Jose Ibarra, a Venezuelan national in the U.S. illegally, was convicted and sentenced to life in prison for her murder.
Riley's family thanked Trump for keeping his promises. "We also want to thank President Trump for the promises he made to us," they said in a video played at the rally. "He said he would secure our borders and that he would never forget about Lacon. And he has a man of his word and would trust that he will fight for the American people."
Trump vowed to deliver justice. "During the campaign, I promised Lakin's family that I would deliver justice for Lakin," he said. "And on day one, I signed the Alien Enemies Act Declaration to expel Tren De Aragua, rather violently from our country. I also designated them a foreign terrorist organization."
Democrats Accused of Rejecting American Safety
The White House posted a clip from the rally in which Trump challenged Democrats to stand up for the principle that "the first duty of the American government is to protect American citizens, not illegal aliens." When few stood, Trump said, "You should be ashamed of yourself not standing up."
"Democrats reject the idea that the government's first duty is to protect American citizens rather than illegal aliens. Never forget," the White House wrote.
Trump also linked illegal immigration to broader Democratic goals, saying they want to pack the Supreme Court "because they want open borders and to take away your Second Amendment rights — but the proud people of Georgia will NOT let that happen!"
"They want to change the Supreme Court because they want to take away, among other things, they want to open borders, but they want to take away your Second Amendment. The proud people of Georgia will not let that happen because we will fight, fight, fight, and we will win, win, win a lot," Trump declared.
He specifically blamed former President Joe Biden's administration for importing gang violence. "They imported sadistic illegal alien gang members and cartel savages to plunder, rape, and kill. Right here in your state, two years ago, a beautiful 22-year-old nursing student, Lincoln Riley was attacked... murdered by an illegal alien member of Tren De-Aragwa," Trump said. "That monster was set loose by the cruel open-border policies of John Assoff."
