Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu pledged Sunday to "complete the mission" against Iran alongside President Donald Trump, after receiving what he called an "extraordinary endorsement" from the president — a full-throated backing just nine days before Israel's October 27 Knesset elections.

Trump's endorsement, posted Sunday morning, was addressed directly to Israeli voters and left no doubt about his preference. "Please let this Letter serve to represent my Complete and Total Endorsement of Bibi Netanyahu in his upcoming Race for Re-election as Prime Minister of Israel," Trump wrote, according to The Jerusalem Post. The president praised Netanyahu as a "great warrior" and a U.S. "partner for peace" amid the multi-front war on Iran and its nuclear weapons aspirations.

Trump stressed the stakes in personal terms. "I have watched Bibi under the most trying of times," he wrote. "Normal men or women in such situations would have wilted under the pressure — But Bibi did not wilt, he actually got stronger, and maintains that same Strength today." He added: "This is the kind of Partner that the United States of America is demanding of Israel, a Country for which it has done so much."

Netanyahu responded on X shortly after, thanking the president and writing: "Thank you, President Trump, for the tremendous support and the joint work. Together, we will complete the mission."

The warning to Israeli voters was blunt: choose Netanyahu or risk fighting Iran without American help. "If Israel has the wrong leader, which would be anyone other than Bibi, America will have to do this work ourselves, and I am not inclined to do so," Trump wrote, per The Jerusalem Post. PBS News noted that Israelis head to the polls October 27 in the first national elections since the Hamas attack of October 7, 2023.

The endorsement comes as no single bloc in Israel's 120-seat Knesset commands a majority. The 120-seat Knesset requires a coalition of at least 61 members to govern. Current forecasts show Likud winning roughly 18–22 seats, with a Netanyahu-aligned right-religious bloc projected at about 49–51 seats — short of a majority — leaving smaller parties with the balance of power, according to The Jerusalem Post. Israeli President Isaac Herzog will consult party leaders after the vote before tapping a candidate to attempt coalition formation; Herzog is not on the ballot and does not lead a party.

The endorsement also landed as Iran-related tensions remain high. Iran International reported Sunday that IRGC deputy commander Mostafa Izadi claimed U.S. forces at sea have moved roughly 700 kilometers away to avoid Iranian missile range — an assertion that appeared in the IRGC-affiliated Fars news agency and could not be independently verified. The same outlet reported senior IRGC adviser Mohammadreza Naghdi claiming Iran's missile facilities were not damaged despite heavy bombings and that strategic stockpiles remain intact. The U.S. Virtual Embassy in Iran issued a security alert warning of potential flight cancellations, airspace closures and travel disruptions.

Social media users amplified the endorsement quickly. X account @clashreport posted that Trump had given his "Complete and Total Endorsement" to Netanyahu, warning the U.S. would have to take on Iran itself if Israel chose another leader. Account @TrumpDailyPosts similarly described Trump calling Netanyahu a strong partner against Iran and warning that if Israel chooses the wrong leader, the United States may be left to act alone.

The endorsement drew attention from major outlets. The New York Times reported that Trump praised the embattled prime minister for his endurance and said any other candidate would be the "wrong Leader."

Our Take

This is what an America First foreign policy looks like in practice: a U.S. president who tells the world plainly that American treasure and American lives will not be spent cleaning up other nations' political messes if they choose weak leadership. Trump is not meddling — he is stating the terms of the partnership. Israel gets the most capable wartime leader in its history, and America gets a partner who will finish the job against the Iranian regime rather than kick the can down the road for another administration.

The globalists and the legacy media will call this interference. They said the same thing when Trump moved the embassy to Jerusalem and brokered the Abraham Accords. The reality is simpler: the Biden administration spent four years funding Iran's proxies and loosening sanctions, and now Trump is making clear that strength — not appeasement — is what keeps the Middle East from burning. If Israeli voters heed his warning, the mission against Tehran gets completed. If they don't, Americans should ask themselves why our sons and daughters would be asked to do a job Israel's own leaders refused to finish.

I served in the Gulf and saw firsthand what happens when we send mixed signals to that region—our allies need to know we have their back, and this endorsement sends the right message.

Genuine question—does a 'complete and total endorsement' mean boots on the ground if things escalate, or is this more about strategic deterrence? I want to support this but I'd like to know what the actual commitment is.

I think it means no more Obama-style pallets of cash and vague red lines. Strength first, and the mullahs will think twice.

Fair question, but deterrence only works if they believe we mean it. That's the whole point.

This is exactly the kind of decisive leadership we've been missing—Trump and Netanyahu standing together against Iran is what real strength looks like.

Absolutely. Weakness invites aggression, and the last four years proved that.
