Trump: Slotkin Wants Prosecutions to 'Scare' People
The president pointed specifically to Slotkin's call for prosecutions as part of a broader Democratic strategy of intimidation. "Slotkin said that there should be prosecutions in order to scare people from going into politics," Trump said. "That's a Democrat and that's what they do. That's all they're good at — and you know what? That's why they're getting their asses kicked."
Trump said the push for prosecutions is aimed at discouraging conservatives from entering public service. "What they're doing is really discouraging people from going into politics," he said. "They weaponized government, the Democrats — that's what they've done."
Polls 'Rigged' Like Journalists, Trump Says
The president also dismissed recent polling showing him trailing, calling the numbers "fake" and "rigged. "Just like the journalists are rigged."
Trump said the pollster behind the Iowa numbers "knew what she was doing. That was a crooked deal," adding that "she was always polling me correctly" until that final survey. "I had one poll where I was down by three and I won by 20 — and the person that was the pollster had to quit in disgrace," he said.
