President Donald Trump delivered a blunt assessment of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, accusing him of not wanting to end the war with Russia and suggesting it is time for new leadership at the negotiating table.

Trump Says Zelensky 'Doesn't Want to Stop' the War

In remarks posted by the Rapid Response 47 account, President Trump responded to a question about sanctions by saying, "I'm supporting stopping war between Russia and Ukraine... And frankly, Zelensky is not helping matters much. I think he doesn't want to stop it. But I want to see people not die."

The president highlighted the human toll, stating, "They're losing probably on average 25 to 35,000 soldiers every single month... Last month, it was 32,000. I don't want to see 32,000 soldiers dead." Trump emphasized that the war "has nothing to do with this country," but argued that from a humanitarian standpoint, Ukraine is being devastated.

'Ukraine Is Losing All of Its Men'

Trump relayed the story of a Ukrainian woman he saw on television who blamed Zelensky for the losses. "She said, he's killing our men," Trump recalled. "She said, our men are dying. Our men have no legs in many cases. They're in mental institutions." The president added, "And they want to put her in prison."

"All I want is for Russia and Ukraine to stop that stupid war," Trump declared.

Time for Somebody Else to Negotiate

In a second video, President Trump rejected Zelensky's claim that he is on the wrong side of history. "Zelensky doesn't know what he's talking about," Trump said. "Zelensky is a man that should have had this war settled a long time ago."

Trump asserted that if Zelensky had listened to him earlier, "he would have made a much better deal a long time ago and it had a million people living from his side." The president concluded, "To be honest, I think it's time for somebody else to negotiate on behalf of Ukraine."
