President Donald Trump announced the launch of a new $8 billion Harvest Fuel Relief Program aimed at offsetting diesel costs for American farmers during the current harvest season.
Speaking at an event in Kansas, the President said the Department of Agriculture will administer the program, providing direct support to farmers facing high fuel expenses.
"Tonight I'm also pleased to announce that the Department of Agriculture will be launching a new harvest fuel relief program providing our farmers with $8 billion in support to offset diesel costs during this harvest season," President Trump said.
Senator Roger Marshall Credited for Leading the Push
The President credited Senator Roger Marshall of Kansas for championing the program.
"And Roger Marshall is the leader who fought for that to happen. Roger got it to happen. Good job, Roger," Trump said to applause.
The White House followed the announcement with a message emphasizing its commitment to agricultural producers, posting, "Protecting America's Farmers."
The $8 billion allocation represents a significant federal investment in the agricultural sector as farmers work to bring in this season's harvest.
