The FBI has reported a 67% increase in violent crime arrests under President Donald Trump compared to the final months of the Biden administration, according to agency data released Wednesday.
Over the past 21 months, the FBI arrested more than 47,000 violent criminals and gang members. Arrests of child sex predators and human traffickers also rose 13%, reaching just over 6,000.
Historic Reduction in Violent Crime
FBI Director Kash Patel highlighted the results: "Over the last 21 months under the Trump administration's leadership and working alongside our Department of Justice and law enforcement partners, this FBI has delivered the largest reduction in violent crime in United States history."
Patel cited a 30% drop in the national murder rate and a 114% increase in violent crime suspect arrests. Agents also seized over 4,600 kilograms of fentanyl, enough to kill more than 350 million Americans.
Top Fugitives Brought to Justice
The FBI apprehended 10 of its Top Ten Most Wanted fugitives—2.5 times the number captured over the previous four years. Six fugitives from a newly created "Most Wanted Fraudsters" list were caught within its first four months.
Patel contrasted the current results with the agency's past: "This FBI and law enforcement responded by delivering in the biggest way they ever have. This is what happens with a President who backs the blue, an Attorney General who relentlessly prosecutes criminals, and good cops all over the country getting the job done."
