President Trump touched down in Lubbock, Texas, on Monday night to a roaring crowd at the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center, where he announced a sweeping rollback of Biden-era methane regulations and touted billions in new investment flowing into the Lone Star State.
Energy Announcement Headlines Lubbock Rally
"Tonight, I am officially terminating Biden's expensive and unnecessary methane regulations to save consumers and energy producers $45 billion in costs, unlock vast quantities of Texas natural gas, and produce 210 million barrels of oil," President Trump declared to the energized crowd.
The president framed the move as a direct reversal of the previous administration's policies, saying, "Under Crooked Joe Biden, Democrats crushed the small oil and gas operators with crippling regulations and methane that caused prices to skyrocket."
Tariff-Driven Investment Bonanza for Texas
Trump highlighted a wave of major corporate investments he credited to his tariff policies, including $60 billion from Apple, $46 billion from Texas Instruments, $6.5 billion from Eli Lilly, and $3.6 billion from Toyota moving production from Mexico to Texas.
"Apple, as an example, is investing $600 billion in this country, 60 of it in Texas. They always made their product in China, right? They made everything in China. Not anymore," Trump said, drawing cheers from the audience.
Border Security and Rural Relief
Border Patrol Union President Paul Perez, a Lubbock native, delivered a forceful endorsement of the president's border policies. "For 29 years and under five presidents, I've been out there securing this border and no one has given us the support that President Trump has given us. Everybody talked about it, but only one president did it. That's President Trump," Perez said.
The president also spotlighted relief for the agriculture community, announcing the elimination of the death tax and highlighting the Working Families Tax Cut, which is set to save over 221,000 family farms in Texas. "To protect family farms, we eliminated the unfair estate tax or death tax. We gave our farmers $12 billion of relief," Trump said.
Local Pride and a Historic Arrival
Earlier in the evening, Air Force One's arrival drew an emotional response from residents and even local media. "I'm getting emotional — there's just so many people out here. The excitement is contagious!" one local news reporter said on air, capturing the historic moment.
The rally also featured a surprise appearance by Secretary of State Marco Rubio, whom Trump introduced as potentially "the greatest of them all at that." Rubio told the crowd, "Our enemies are weaker, our country is stronger, and our people are safer because Donald J. Trump is the president of the United States."
Trump closed the evening with his signature dance moves and a salute to Texas Tech, flashing the 'Guns Up' hand sign and declaring, "That's a great place. You always do well and even people, they know they're in a fight when they're fighting Texas."
