AUSTIN, TX — The last firewall between the Democratic machine and the American interior didn't merely crack Tuesday night. It was bulldozed. James Talarico, who ran directly against the 47th President, the richest man on earth, and what he called 'the entire Washington DC establishment,' now owns the Senate seat Republicans held for 38 years. And he didn't hide a thing about who his enemies are.
Talarico named President Trump, Elon Musk, and the DC establishment from a victory stage, then turned to the crowd and said, 'You were my slingshot.' That is not a moral victory. That is a purchase. The receipts are the hundreds of millions in outside money that flooded a state race while no one in the legacy press asked who signed the checks.
Ken Paxton conceded with the plain truth: "We've had a difficult night tonight across the country, but it's not over." That is a mobilization order, not a eulogy. Meanwhile, Greg Abbott is already boasting he left Texas in "far better shape" while Fox News frames the collapse as a Whataburger celebration. The Republican establishment would rather sell you a fast-food photo op than admit what just happened to the border.
Hinojosa's Warning Shot
Governor Hinojosa now occupies Greg Abbott's chair and is promising "a mandate for change and in its change they will get." His target, in his own words: "the powerful people who have gotten very comfortable running this state." That means the border enforcement Texas built under Abbott is already on the chopping block. The people who told you Texas would never fall are the same people who told you the border was secure.
The timing stinks. The Ninth Circuit ordered 20,000 noncitizen ballots counted in the same week 50 million early ballots surged across the final weekend. No forensic audit. No canvass. No answers. Just victory laps from the left and quiet capitulation from the party that promised to secure elections.
The Slingshot Was Funded
Talarico's campaign was not a grassroots miracle. It was flooded with out-of-state money, and the media didn't ask a single question about who wrote those checks. The same week a federal court forced noncitizen ballots into the count, no one demanded a forensic audit before the coronation.
"We've had a difficult night tonight across the country, but it's not over," Paxton said. He's right. But it won't be won by Republicans who are already drafting their concession speeches for 2028. It will be won by patriots who demand every county canvassed, every donor list pulled, and every so-called mandate earned in the light.
"Texas is not a loss—it is a debt, and it gets collected in 2028."
You heard Hinojosa. You heard Talarico. Now you know exactly who they intend to run against. The question is whether the GOP will bother to fight back or just order another Whataburger.
