Sarah Huckabee Sanders, the Republican governor of Arkansas, responded to Democratic California Governor Gavin Newsom’s attacks about crime in Arkansas this week by pointing out how many people were fleeing California.

Sanders contrasted Republicans’ agenda with the president’s in her 15-minute speech following Biden’s State of the Union. Biden and Democrats had been “highjacked by the radical Left,” according to the Arkansas governor. She framed the differences between the two parties as those between normalcy and radicalism.

As a response to Sanders’ rebuttal of Biden’s State of the Union address about crime in the southern state, Newsom tweeted on Tuesday night: “While @SarahHuckabee touts public safety, here is what she skips over: Arkansas has the one of the highest murder rates in the nation.”

During an interview with Fox News host Sean Hannity, Sanders responded to the criticism by pointing out that Newsom seemingly ignored the fact that Sanders had been in office “a whopping 31 days.”

In her view, the fact that Newsom attacked her proved she was doing something right as the state’s new governor.

Sarah Huckabee Sanders definitely landed an epic response when she savagely responded to Newsom’s attacks about crime in Arkansas. After Newsom declared that the state had one of the highest murder rates in the nation, Sanders gracefully fired back by reminding him that she had been governor for only 31 days. It appears that Newsom was hoping to attack Huckabee Sanders and have the last laugh, but was ultimately no match for her incredible rebuttal.
