Radical leftist and Democratic Mayor Brandon Johnson of Chicago has once again proven his complete disregard for the safety and well-being of his own city’s residents by announcing a plan to move 1,600 illegal migrants from police stations to tent cities. The move comes despite protests from local residents and legal action taken to prevent the housing of migrants in a closed-down high school and two other locations on the South Side of the city.

Johnson, who seems to prioritize his radical leftist ideology over the safety of Chicago residents, is calling on the people of his city to make “sacrifices” to accommodate the influx of illegal migrants. This comes after over 1.93 million illegal immigrants have been encountered at the U.S.-Mexico border during fiscal year 2023. Yet, Johnson, who doesn’t seem to care about law and order, is more concerned with pandering to the illegal alien lobby than ensuring the safety and security of American citizens.
While Mayor Eric Adams of New York City rightfully warns that the flood of migrants could “destroy” his city, Johnson seems to be living in a fantasy world where endless waves of illegal immigrants have no negative consequences. It is time for Johnson to wake up and recognize that the presence of illegal migrants in Chicago will only lead to an increase in crime and economic strain.
Despite the hardworking taxpayers of Chicago already struggling to make ends meet, Mayor Johnson is determined to waste more of their money on housing, feeding, and providing medical care for illegal migrants. It is appalling that Johnson is willing to make his city’s own residents suffer in order to pander to the illegal alien lobby.
We cannot allow Mayor Johnson’s reckless and irresponsible policies to go unchallenged. The residents of Chicago deserve better than a mayor who prioritizes illegal immigrants over his own constituents. We call on Johnson to reverse his disastrous and dangerous decision to house illegal migrants, and instead prioritize the safety and well-being of the people of Chicago.
