A new documentary from Daily Wire shows multiple pediatricians claiming that puberty blockers are completely harmless for children.
The documentary, “What is a Woman”, is hosted by Matt Walsh. In it Walsh interviews multiple pediatricians, or child specialist doctors, about the popular puberty blockers supported by the left.
At one point Walsh sits down with pediatric professor Dr. Michelle Forcier. It is there when the professor claims that puberty blockers can simply be turned on and off like music.
“[Puberty blockers are] wonderful because we can put that pause on puberty, just like you’re listening to music. You put the pause on and puberty would go right back to where it was, the next note in the song, just delay that period of time.”
The doctor claimed that messing with their hormones have no permanent effects on the growing children and are “completely reversible”.
She went on to say that the right time to start the transition is whenever they are ready, adding, “That could be a kiddo who is just starting puberty and they’re panicking because they’re just getting breast buds, or their penis is getting bigger and busier and they’re worried about all kinds of masculine changes.”
Walsh then pushed Dr Forcier on the definition of gender identity, since she had suggested that was a justification for prescribing puberty blockers. “If I see a chicken laying eggs and I say that’s a female chicken, did I assign female?” Walsh asked. “Or am I just observing a physical reality that’s happening?”
The doctor, clearly angered by his proposition, fired back, “Does a chicken have gender identity? Does a chicken cry? Does a chicken commit suicide? A chicken has an assigned gender but a chicken doesn’t have gender identity.”
Once Walsh began to question the doctor about a common puberty blocker named Lupron, however, the interview quickly turned. The doctor freaked out, suggesting it was time to end the interview since she prescribes that particular drug.
Lupron has been used in the past to medically castrate criminals.
Another physician that Matt Walsh spoke with, Dr. Miriam Grossman, an adult and adolescent psychiatrist, also rejected the claim that puberty blockers are harmless. Grossman recounted the tale of a mother who claimed her daughter developed osteoporosis after using the blockers.
“I just spoke a month ago with a mother whose 14-year-old daughter was put on blockers, they discovered after two years, this girl has osteoporosis. That’s something old women get,” Grossman said.
It’s hard to understand why any parent or doctor would think that something like puberty blockers would be okay to use on a child, especially during such a key part of their physical development as puberty.
