Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-Calif.) has unveiled a radical anti-enforcement agenda as part of his California gubernatorial campaign, proposing to criminally prosecute ICE agents and revoke their driver's licenses while maintaining sanctuary policies that protect illegal aliens from deportation.

The Democrat congressman, who recently entered the crowded gubernatorial race and quickly emerged as a frontrunner, outlined his extreme plan to weaponize state government against federal immigration enforcement. Swalwell's proposal would turn California into a battlefield against the Trump administration's efforts to secure the border and enforce immigration law.

Social Media Erupts Over Anti-ICE Agenda

Conservative commentator Matt Margolis highlighted the absurdity of Swalwell's priorities, posting on social media: "Eric Swalwell Wants to Take Driver's Licenses Away From ICE Agents, Not Illegal Aliens." The post underscores how Swalwell's California continues to issue driver's licenses to undocumented immigrants while now threatening to revoke them from federal law enforcement officers.

Another user, @Chasepointer01, expressed outrage at Swalwell's confrontational stance, writing: "This commie rat bastard wants to go to war? Swalwell: As CA Gov I Will Charge ICE Agents, Take Away Their Drivers License." The reaction reflects growing frustration among conservatives with California's increasingly hostile posture toward federal immigration enforcement.

"Swalwell's plan represents the most extreme anti-law enforcement position taken by any major gubernatorial candidate in recent memory."

This latest proposal adds to Swalwell's history of radical positions. Social media users have also highlighted his previous calls for impeaching Trump administration officials, with @Jeffery04425863 noting: "Eric Swalwell Wants Dems to Impeach Trump Officials If They Take Congress."

Swalwell's campaign platform essentially declares war on federal immigration enforcement, promising to use state resources to obstruct ICE operations while continuing to provide benefits and protections to those in the country illegally. The proposal would likely face significant legal challenges, as states cannot interfere with federal law enforcement operations.

The congressman's extreme positions highlight the widening gulf between California Democrats and the rest of America on immigration enforcement and respect for federal law.

How exactly would revoking ICE agents' licenses even work legally? Are we seriously going to prevent federal agents from doing their jobs because some politician doesn't like immigration enforcement?

Swalwell has completely lost touch with reality.

This is absolutely insane! Swalwell wants to punish the very people trying to protect our borders while rolling out the red carpet for illegal immigrants.

It's like we're living in backwards world. Law enforcement gets punished while lawbreakers get protected.

I served this country for 20 years and this kind of backwards thinking is exactly why we're in the mess we're in. Support our law enforcement officers!

This is what happens when you elect politicians who care more about virtue signaling than actual public safety. ICE agents are doing their job - enforcing the law!

My husband works in border patrol and this kind of rhetoric makes me sick. These agents risk their lives every day to keep our communities safe.

Thank your husband for his service! These politicians have no idea what our brave agents go through.

So let me get this straight - we're going to make it harder for ICE to do their jobs while making it easier for people who entered illegally to stay? Make it make sense.

Living in a border state, I see firsthand the chaos that weak immigration policies create. We need MORE support for ICE, not less. This proposal is completely backwards.

Same here in Arizona. These politicians don't live with the consequences of their failed policies like we do.
