Federal Communications Commission Chairman Brendan Carr just torched Stephen Colbert and Democrat Senate candidate James Talarico for deliberately spreading a bogus "censorship" story that fooled gullible mainstream media outlets across the country.
Speaking with Glenn Beck, Carr exposed how Colbert falsely claimed on Monday night that the FCC's new guidance on equal time rules somehow "forced" CBS to block Talarico from appearing on "The Late Show." The problem? It's complete garbage.
"This was a decision by Colbert, by Talarico to put a hoax out there that they knew the media would run," Carr explained, pulling back the curtain on this manufactured controversy.
Another Liberal Media Lie Exposed
Here's what really happened: Colbert and this Democrat wannabe cooked up a fake story about being "censored" by Trump's FCC, knowing that every Trump-hating news outlet would breathlessly repeat their claims without doing basic fact-checking.
And guess what? They were right. The legacy media machine immediately ran with the story, painting it as evidence of the Trump administration's "authoritarian overreach." Because of course they did.
"They knew the media would run [the hoax] for purposes of Talarico, apparently, scoring political points," Carr told Beck, cutting straight through the BS.
This is exactly the kind of coordinated disinformation campaign that Patriots have come to expect from the left. Create a fake crisis, get their media allies to amplify it, then fundraise and fear-monger off the manufactured outrage.
Colbert, who stopped being funny years ago and transformed into a partisan hack, thought he could pull a fast one on the American people. But Chairman Carr wasn't having it.
