Justice is finally coming for the radical leftists who spent years terrorizing federal law enforcement officers. Robert Jacob Hoopes, a Portland anti-ICE agitator, pleaded guilty Wednesday to aggravated assault of a federal employee with a dangerous weapon resulting in bodily injury – a crime that could land him behind bars for two decades.

The violent attack occurred in June 2025, just months after President Trump's inauguration, as ICE ramped up deportation operations to fulfill the President's promise of mass removal of illegal aliens. Like clockwork, Portland's usual suspects mobilized to obstruct federal agents trying to enforce immigration law.

But this wasn't your typical leftist "peaceful protest." Hoopes escalated to actual violence, hurling a large rock at an ICE officer and causing bodily injury. This is the kind of domestic terrorism that Trump's Justice Department is finally taking seriously – unlike the hands-off approach we saw during the Biden regime's coddling of Antifa thugs.

Portland's Anti-Law Enforcement Culture Strikes Again

Anyone surprised this happened in Portland? This is the same city that let Antifa run wild for years, turning downtown into a war zone while local Democrat officials cheered from the sidelines. The same city that tried to abolish ICE and declared itself a "sanctuary" for lawbreakers.

Now that Trump is back in the White House with a mandate to secure our borders, these radical leftists are getting desperate. They know their open-borders agenda is over, and they're lashing out violently at the federal agents doing their jobs.

Attorney General Pam Bondi's DOJ is sending a clear message: assault a federal officer, face real consequences. No more slaps on the wrist. No more catch-and-release for domestic terrorists who think they can intimidate ICE into backing down from deportation operations.

Hoopes now faces up to 20 years in federal prison – plenty of time to think about whether attacking law enforcement was worth it. Meanwhile, ICE continues its vital work removing criminal aliens from American communities, just as President Trump promised.

How many more of these anti-ICE radicals will it take getting real prison time before they realize their reign of terror is over?

What's the maximum sentence actually looking like here? Will they serve the full 20 or get out early with good behavior?

Good! Now taxpayers won't have to fund this thug's destructive behavior for the next two decades.

My brother is ICE and deals with this garbage every day. These agents put their lives on the line and deserve protection from violent criminals.

About time we see some real justice! Will this finally send a message to other violent extremists?

I hope so, but Portland DA's office has been way too lenient on these cases.

20 years seems appropriate for assaulting a federal officer. These Portland riots got way out of hand and someone needed to be made an example of.

Finally! Some accountability for these violent protesters who think they can attack law enforcement without consequences.

Exactly! Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

This is what happens when local politicians encourage lawlessness and violence against federal immigration enforcement. Portland created this mess.
