Leave it to the woke sports elite to turn a presidential honor into a grievance festival. Team USA women's hockey captain Hilary Knight is having a public meltdown after President Trump made what any reasonable person would recognize as a harmless joke about inviting both Olympic hockey teams to the State of the Union address.
Knight, who became Team USA's all-time leading scorer in women's Olympic hockey in 2026, apparently couldn't handle Trump's casual comment to the men's team: "We're going to have to bring the women's team." Instead of showing gratitude for the invitation to one of America's most prestigious events, she went full feminist warrior mode.
"I think that's being overshadowed by sort of a quick lapse," Knight whined, calling Trump's comment "distasteful" and claiming it's a "great teaching point" - because apparently everything has to be turned into a social justice lecture these days.
Another Case of Trump Derangement Syndrome
This is exactly the kind of manufactured outrage we've come to expect from athletes who've been brainwashed by leftist ideology. Here's President Trump offering to honor BOTH teams at the State of the Union - something that would be an incredible privilege for any patriotic American - and instead of gratitude, we get complaints about his tone.
"It's a great teaching point," Knight declared, apparently positioning herself as America's hockey mom-in-chief ready to scold the Commander in Chief.
What's truly distasteful here isn't Trump's offhand remark - it's Knight's ungrateful attitude toward the president who's working tirelessly to Make America Great Again. While Trump is busy securing our borders, rebuilding our economy, and restoring American strength on the world stage, privileged athletes are nitpicking his conversational style.
Patriots across America are getting tired of spoiled sports stars who think their athletic achievements give them the right to lecture the rest of us about politics. Maybe Knight should focus on representing her country with pride instead of turning every interaction into a feminist grievance session.
Will Team USA's women's hockey team accept this incredible honor, or will they let their captain's woke politics overshadow what should be a celebration of American excellence?
