Patriots, we need to talk about a harsh reality: the same GOP establishment that routinely caves to Democrats on redistricting absolutely cannot be trusted with an Article V constitutional convention.
While many conservatives have rallied behind the idea of a convention of states to rein in federal overreach, recent redistricting debacles across the nation prove our own party is far too squishy to handle such a consequential process.
Just look at the evidence. In state after state, Republican-controlled legislatures had golden opportunities to draw favorable congressional maps after the 2020 census. Instead of fighting fire with fire against Democrat gerrymandering, what did they do? They folded like cheap suits.
"The same Republicans who can't even stand up to Democrat lawyers in redistricting fights want us to trust them with rewriting the Constitution? That's a hard pass," one conservative analyst told The Federalist.
Here's the uncomfortable truth: an Article V convention in today's political climate would be an absolute disaster for the America First movement. With current political divisions and GOP spinelessness, we'd be handing liberals a golden opportunity to gut the Second Amendment, eliminate the Electoral College, and enshrine their woke agenda into our founding document.
The Risks Are Too High
Think about it, folks. The same establishment Republicans who gave us decades of broken promises on Obamacare, immigration, and the swamp would suddenly find their backbone at a constitutional convention? The same RINOs who consistently snatch defeat from the jaws of victory would somehow outmaneuver seasoned Democrat operatives?
President Trump's decisive 2024 victory and Republican control of government shows we can win through elections, not risky constitutional gambling. We don't need to open Pandora's box when we're already draining the swamp through proper channels.
The redistricting failures weren't accidents – they were symptoms of a deeper problem within the GOP establishment that refuses to fight as hard as Democrats do. Until we completely purge the party of weak-kneed moderates, an Article V convention remains a dangerous pipe dream that could destroy everything our movement has accomplished.
