Team USA women's hockey captain Hilary Knight is throwing a tantrum over President Trump's lighthearted comment about inviting both the men's and women's hockey teams to the State of the Union address, calling the president's remarks 'distasteful' and turning what should be a moment of national celebration into a woke lecture.
Knight, who became Team USA's all-time leading scorer in women's Olympic hockey in 2026, couldn't help herself from taking multiple shots at President Trump after he jokingly told the men's team, 'We're going to have to bring the women's team' to the prestigious address.
Instead of showing gratitude for being included in one of America's most important political events, Knight decided to go full feminist, declaring the invitation 'a great teaching point' and claiming the achievement was 'being overshadowed by sort of a quick lapse.'
'I think that's being overshadowed by sort of a quick lapse,' Knight complained, apparently unable to take a joke or appreciate the honor of a presidential invitation.
This is classic leftist behavior - turn every gesture of goodwill into an opportunity to lecture Americans about imagined grievances. President Trump was clearly being inclusive by ensuring both teams would be recognized at the State of the Union, but that's not enough for the woke crowd.
Where's the Gratitude?
What Knight fails to understand is that President Trump didn't have to invite either team. The fact that he's extending this honor to celebrate American athletic achievement should be met with appreciation, not sanctimonious grandstanding.
This is the same mentality we've seen from ungrateful athletes who kneel for the flag, trash America on the world stage, then expect taxpayer-funded support. Knight's response perfectly encapsulates the entitled attitude of athletes who think every interaction must revolve around their political agenda.
President Trump has consistently supported American athletes and celebrated their achievements. Instead of joining in that celebration, Knight chose to make herself the victim of a non-existent slight.
Maybe it's time these athletes remembered they represent ALL Americans - not just the woke mob that cheers when they trash the president who's actually trying to honor them.
