In what can only be described as a ringing non-endorsement, California Governor Gavin Newsom said he "broadly" supports Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass for reelection—despite the city's complete collapse under her disastrous leadership.

Speaking to Puck News on Tuesday, Newsom offered the most tepid political backing imaginable, acknowledging "past disagreements" with Bass over housing and homelessness—two issues where LA has become a national embarrassment under her watch.

"I've known her for years," Newsom said, sounding about as enthusiastic as someone endorsing root canal surgery. "We have a great collaborative relationship. She has a remarkable career."

What "remarkable career" is he talking about? The one where Bass has presided over LA's transformation into a post-apocalyptic wasteland of tent cities, rampant crime, and fleeing businesses? Or perhaps her "remarkable" track record of implementing failed progressive policies that have made life miserable for law-abiding Angelenos?

"This lukewarm 'endorsement' speaks volumes about Bass's failed leadership—even her own party allies can't muster real enthusiasm for her re-election."

The fact that Newsom—himself no stranger to California's progressive policy disasters—can only "broadly" support Bass tells you everything you need to know about her performance. When the governor who gave us San Francisco's decline can't fully back you, that's saying something.

Under Bass's leadership, LA has seen:

• Exploding homelessness with tent cities consuming entire neighborhoods
• Rising crime rates driving businesses and residents out of the city
• Failed housing policies that have made affordability worse, not better
• Complete breakdown of basic city services

Meanwhile, President Trump's America First agenda continues delivering results nationwide, showing what competent leadership looks like compared to the California Democrat disaster machine.

Patriots across the country are watching as blue cities like LA crumble under progressive mismanagement. The question isn't whether Newsom "broadly" supports Bass—it's whether LA voters will finally wake up and demand leaders who put Americans first instead of woke ideology.

How much more failure will California Democrats tolerate before admitting their policies simply don't work?

I used to love visiting LA for business trips, but last month I couldn't believe the state of downtown. Tent cities everywhere and businesses boarded up. What happened to the city of dreams?

Can someone explain to me how Bass still has support when LA is literally falling apart? The crime stats alone should be disqualifying.

Media coverage protects Democrats from scrutiny. If this were a Republican mayor, it would be front page news everywhere.

My cousin owns a restaurant in LA and says crime has made it nearly impossible to operate. When will voters wake up?

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over expecting different results. California keeps electing the same failed policies and wondering why nothing improves.

This is what happens when you prioritize woke politics over actual governance. LA residents deserve so much better than this failed leadership.

I moved from LA to Texas two years ago and haven't looked back. Best decision I ever made.

Birds of a feather flock together! Of course Newsom backs Bass - they're both destroying California cities one policy at a time.

Exactly right. The homeless crisis in LA has gotten exponentially worse under her leadership.

I served this country for 20 years and it breaks my heart to see our great cities reduced to this. LA used to be a beacon of opportunity.

Failing upward is the Democrat way! No accountability whatsoever.
