Minnesota Democrat Rep. Angie Craig is facing a firestorm of criticism after publicly stating she "regrets" voting for the Laken Riley Act - legislation named after a 22-year-old nursing student who was brutally murdered by an illegal alien in Georgia.

Craig, who is running for Senate in a key 2026 race, made the stunning admission while pandering to her radical base, apparently forgetting that most Americans actually support holding dangerous illegal immigrants accountable for their crimes.

The Laken Riley Act requires the detention of illegal aliens charged with theft-related crimes and gives states the right to sue the federal government for damages caused by illegal immigration policies. It passed with bipartisan support - including Craig's initial vote - after the horrific murder of Riley by Jose Ibarra, an illegal alien who had been arrested multiple times but was still roaming free thanks to sanctuary city policies.

"This is absolutely disgusting. A young American woman is dead because our government failed to remove a dangerous criminal, and this Democrat politician is worried about the politics of protecting other Americans from the same fate," said one GOP strategist.

But here's what's really telling, Patriots: Craig's flip-flop exposes exactly what we've been saying all along. When the cameras are rolling and Americans are paying attention, Democrats will vote for common-sense border security. But the moment they think no one's looking, they revert to their true priority - protecting illegal aliens over American citizens.

Republican challengers in Minnesota are already pouncing on Craig's tone-deaf comments, and rightfully so. How do you explain to Laken Riley's family that you now "regret" supporting a bill that could prevent other families from suffering the same devastating loss?

This is the Democrat Party in 2026, folks - so consumed with radical ideology that they can't even stand behind legislation named after a murdered American girl. Minnesota voters deserve better than a senator who puts illegal alien criminals ahead of their safety and security.

Will Craig's betrayal of Laken Riley's memory cost Democrats another Senate seat? Patriots across Minnesota are watching - and they won't forget come Election Day.

I've seen this pattern my whole life - Democrats will say anything to get elected, then completely abandon their previous positions when it's politically convenient. What about honoring the memory of that murdered American?

It's disgusting. These families deserve better than political games.

Can someone remind me which specific bill this is referring to? I want to make sure I have all the facts when I share this with my friends.

This is exactly why we can't trust these flip-flopping Democrats. They only care about votes, not victims or their families.

Couldn't agree more. They have no principles whatsoever.

The fact that they're walking back support for legislation named after a murder victim tells you everything you need to know about their character. How do they sleep at night?

This reminds me of when my local Democrat councilman supported a veterans memorial, then voted to defund it six months later. They have no shame or consistency.
