Another radical Democrat has been caught red-handed trying to rewrite her own anti-police history. JoAnna Mendoza, who's running for Arizona's 6th Congressional District, is scrambling to distance herself from her own recorded statements supporting the defund the police movement after damning video evidence surfaced.
In a newly unearthed 2020 video, Mendoza clearly states her support for "reallocating police funding" away from law enforcement and into social service programs. When directly asked if she would defund police, Mendoza responded: "Police reform is just one aspect of addressing systemic racism in our nation, specifically here in Arizona... I support" reallocating funds.
But now that she's facing voters in a competitive district, Mendoza is singing a completely different tune, claiming she never supported defunding the police. Does she think Arizona voters are stupid?
"MEET JOANNA MENDOZA, THE CONGRESSIONAL CANDIDATE THAT IS RUNNING FOR ARIZONA'S 6TH DISTRICT THAT WANTED TO DEFUND THE POLICE, THEN LIED ABOUT HER SUPPORT OF THIS POLICY," posted @NotTheirScript on social media, highlighting how Mendoza "backed 'reallocating police funding' away from law enforcement and into social programs" in 2020.
This is the classic Democrat playbook, folks. During the George Floyd riots and the height of BLM's anti-police hysteria, these radical candidates couldn't virtue signal fast enough. They jumped on the defund bandwagon when it was politically convenient with their woke base.
Now that Americans have seen the devastating results of defund the police policies – skyrocketing crime rates, emboldened criminals, and communities torn apart – suddenly these same Democrats want to pretend they never said what's literally caught on video.
The Trump Effect in Action
This flip-flopping perfectly illustrates how President Trump's America First agenda has completely shifted the political landscape. Even Democrats know their radical anti-police positions are toxic with voters who care about public safety and law and order.
Arizona voters deserve better than a candidate who will say anything to get elected. Mendoza's attempt to gaslight the public about her own recorded statements shows exactly the kind of dishonest politician she really is.
Will Arizona's 6th District fall for this obvious deception, or will they demand a representative who actually supports the brave men and women in blue who keep our communities safe?
