EXPOSED: Democrat Governor Spanberger FLIP-FLOPS on Gerrymandering After Years of Virtue Signaling

Virginia Governor Abigail Spanberger has been caught red-handed in a massive flip-flop that exposes the breathtaking hypocrisy of today's Democrat Party. After spending years grandstanding against gerrymandering and claiming she had no plans to redraw congressional maps, Spanberger has now endorsed a redistricting ballot measure that completely contradicts her previous stance.

In a video statement released Thursday on X, the Democrat governor announced she would vote "yes" on a ballot amendment that would allow Virginia to temporarily alter its congressional districts - the very type of partisan map manipulation she previously denounced when it didn't benefit her party.

Republicans are rightfully calling out this shameless about-face, which perfectly demonstrates how Democrats only oppose "gerrymandering" when they're not the ones holding the crayon. Social media users are exposing Spanberger's hypocrisy, with one observer noting the "surprising flip" after years of her "blasting gerrymandering."

"Big news out of Virginia! Democratic Rep. Abigail Spanberger, after years blasting gerrymandering, has endorsed a November ballot measure to create a bipartisan redistricting commission. She says it'll end partisan map-drawing and ensure fair districts. A surprising flip?" - @RThadt

Of course, Spanberger is trying to frame this naked power grab as somehow being about "fairness" and ending "partisan map-drawing." But Patriots aren't buying this transparent attempt to spin her way out of obvious hypocrisy. When Democrats were losing seats due to existing maps, gerrymandering was the greatest threat to democracy. Now that they see an opportunity to gain seats, suddenly redistricting is a noble cause.

This is the same playbook we've seen from the radical left time and again - manufacture outrage about rules and norms when they're losing, then abandon those same principles the moment they can benefit from changing them. It's exactly why Americans rejected the Democrats' agenda in 2024 and gave President Trump a mandate to drain the swamp.

Virginia voters deserve better than this kind of political opportunism from their governor. Will they hold Spanberger accountable for this blatant flip-flop, or will they reward her dishonesty at the ballot box?

Rules for thee but not for me. This is exactly why we need federal legislation to stop ALL gerrymandering, not just when Republicans do it.

SHOCKED! (Not really)

Classic Democrat playbook - virtue signal when you're out of power, then do whatever benefits you when you're in charge.

It's the same with every issue. Remember how they screamed about the filibuster?

Power corrupts, plain and simple. Politicians will say anything to get elected then conveniently forget their promises.

Typical Democrat hypocrisy! They only care about 'fair maps' when it benefits them politically.

Exactly! Same thing happened in Illinois and New York - crickets from the media.

I voted for her because she promised to end partisan gerrymandering. Now she's doing exactly what she criticized Republicans for doing. This is why people don't trust politicians.

We had the same issue here in my district back in 2011 when the Democrats controlled the state legislature. They carved up our county to dilute the conservative vote. Now they're doing it again statewide.

Which county? Same thing happened to us in Prince William - split our community right down the middle.

Question - didn't Virginia just create that bipartisan redistricting commission? How is she getting around that?
