House Speaker Mike Johnson is taking decisive action to purge the GOP of weak Republicans who have betrayed conservative values, demanding that embattled Rep. Tony Gonzales (R-TX) drop his re-election bid after a series of anti-MAGA votes that have infuriated his West Texas constituents.

The move signals that Johnson is finally listening to the America First wing of the party that helped deliver President Trump's decisive victory in 2024. Gonzales has been under fire from his own district for voting against conservative priorities and aligning himself with the establishment wing that voters soundly rejected.

Patriots across Texas are celebrating the news, with primary challenger Brandon Herrera – known as "TheAKGuy" – thanking leadership for holding Gonzales accountable. "I would like to thank Speaker Johnson and House leadership for holding Congressman Tony Gonzales accountable for actions that have tarnished the office," Herrera posted on social media. "I'm looking forward to representing the district the way the people of West Texas have always deserved."

This is exactly the kind of backbone we need from Republican leadership. For too long, weak Republicans have campaigned as conservatives only to turn around and vote with Democrats once they get to Washington. Gonzales represents everything wrong with the old GOP establishment – promising one thing to voters back home while doing another in the swamp.

"Lets get to work πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ" Herrera added, signaling his readiness to be a true America First representative.

The writing has been on the wall for Gonzales, who has faced mounting pressure from conservative activists and Trump supporters in his district. His votes against key MAGA priorities have made him a prime target for the grassroots movement that's transforming the Republican Party.

This housecleaning effort comes at the perfect time as President Trump works to implement his second-term agenda. The last thing we need are fake Republicans undermining the America First movement from within. Johnson's demand shows he understands that voters didn't send Republicans to Congress to play nice with Democrats – they sent them to deliver results.

Will more RINOs get the message and step aside for true conservatives? The MAGA movement isn't going anywhere, and neither is the demand for representatives who actually represent their constituents' values.

While I appreciate holding Republicans accountable, we also need to be strategic about keeping our majority. What's the plan for replacing this person with someone who can actually win the general election?

Finally Johnson is showing some backbone! Which specific votes or actions triggered this? I want to make sure I'm not supporting this representative in any way.

About time! We need representatives who actually represent conservative values, not RINOs who cave to the liberal agenda every chance they get.

YES! Clean house and drain the swamp, starting with our own party.

This reminds me of my own district where we had a so-called 'conservative' who voted with Pelosi half the time. We primaried him out in 2022 and got a real America First candidate. It works!

Good for you! We did the same thing here in Ohio. These establishment types need to go.
