Wisconsin Senator Ron Johnson is sounding the alarm that Republicans must use budget reconciliation to secure long-term funding for ICE and Customs and Border Protection, ensuring President Trump's mass deportation operation can't be sabotaged by Democrat budget games.
Speaking on NewsNation Now Thursday, Johnson warned that regardless of how the current DHS funding impasse gets resolved, the GOP needs to think strategically about protecting Trump's border enforcement priorities from future Democrat interference.
"We need to pass a reconciliation bill and fund parts of DHS well into the future," Johnson declared, recognizing what every patriotic American already knows – the swamp will do everything possible to undermine Trump's immigration enforcement.
Democrats Playing Games While Criminals Pour In
This comes as Democrats are already scheming to handicap Trump's deportation efforts through budget manipulation. They know they can't stop the will of the American people directly, so they're trying to starve ICE and Border Patrol of the resources needed to remove dangerous criminals from our communities.
Johnson's call for reconciliation makes perfect sense. Why should Trump's mandate to secure our border be held hostage every few months by Chuck Schumer and his open-borders caucus? Americans voted for mass deportations, and they deserve agencies that are fully funded to deliver results.
"The American people gave Republicans a mandate to secure the border and remove illegal aliens. We can't let Democrat budget games interfere with that mission."
The timing couldn't be more critical. ICE and CBP are already ramping up operations under the Trump-Vance administration, with deportation numbers climbing and border crossings plummeting. But sustainable success requires sustainable funding – something the establishment swamp doesn't want to provide.
Johnson understands what many RINOs don't: this isn't about normal government operations. This is about fulfilling the promise that got Trump elected twice. Every day ICE lacks full funding is another day dangerous criminals remain in American communities.
Will Republican leadership listen to Johnson's warning and use reconciliation to lock in border security funding? Or will they cave to Democrat pressure and leave Trump's deportation machine vulnerable to sabotage?
