In a stunning moment of honesty, Virginia Democrat Rep. James Walkinshaw admitted on CNN's "The Arena" that his party's anti-border security agenda might be dead on arrival under President Trump's decisive leadership.
Walkinshaw confessed that the sweeping changes Democrats want to make to ICE and Customs and Border Protection "might be like the Affordable Care Act premium tax credits, that we have to take it to" – essentially admitting defeat before the fight even begins.
This defeatist attitude from Democrats comes as President Trump's mass deportation operation is already showing results across the nation. While Trump and his team are working around the clock to secure our borders and remove criminal illegal aliens, Democrats are apparently throwing in the towel on their radical open-borders agenda.
The Left's Border Security Obstruction Crumbles
For years, Democrats have worked overtime to hamstring ICE and CBP, the very agencies responsible for keeping dangerous criminals and drug dealers out of American communities. They've called to "defund ICE," supported sanctuary cities that harbor illegal aliens, and consistently voted against border security funding.
But now, faced with Trump's overwhelming mandate from the American people and Republican control of government, even the most radical Democrats are beginning to face reality.
"We might not get the ICE and CBP changes we want," Walkinshaw essentially admitted, showing how completely the Democrat party has miscalculated the will of the American people.
This comes as Trump's border czar and deportation teams are already making significant progress in removing criminal illegal aliens from American streets. Communities across the country are celebrating as MS-13 gang members, drug dealers, and other dangerous criminals are finally being held accountable.
Patriots should take note: this is what winning looks like. When Democrats start admitting defeat on their most radical policies, you know Trump's America First agenda is working exactly as promised.
The question now is whether Democrats will continue their obstruction or finally start working with President Trump to put American citizens first. Based on their track record, don't hold your breath.
