EXPOSED: 47 Democrats Vote AGAINST Voter ID After Schumer Claimed Support

Forty-seven Senate Democrats proved once again that their word means absolutely nothing, voting against a commonsense voter ID amendment despite Minority Leader Chuck Schumer's previous public claims that he supported photo identification requirements for voting.

The stunning display of hypocrisy came Thursday when Sen. Jon Husted (R-OH) introduced a straightforward amendment to the Safeguarding American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) America Act. The proposal simply required voters to present photo ID at polling places—something that an overwhelming majority of Americans support regardless of party affiliation.

Democrats' True Colors Revealed

So much for Schumer's previous statements supporting voter ID measures. When push came to shove, nearly every Democrat in the chamber lined up to oppose the most basic election integrity safeguard imaginable. These are the same people who demand ID to enter their office buildings, board airplanes, or pick up prescription medications.

The amendment would have accepted standard forms of identification including driver's licenses, state-issued photo IDs, military IDs, and passports—hardly an unreasonable burden for the fundamental civic duty of voting. Yet Democrats treated this reasonable proposal like it was voter suppression on steroids.

"This vote exposes the radical left's true agenda—they want to keep our elections vulnerable to fraud and manipulation," a senior Republican aide told reporters after the vote.

This is exactly the kind of swamp behavior that President Trump's second-term agenda is designed to eliminate. While the Trump-Vance administration works tirelessly to restore election integrity and rebuild Americans' confidence in our democratic processes, Democrats continue playing political games with our most sacred right.

Americans Deserve Better

The fact that requiring basic photo ID to vote is somehow controversial in 2026 shows just how far the radical left has dragged this country away from common sense. Every other developed nation requires voter identification, yet Democrats act like it's an assault on democracy itself.

Patriots across America are watching, and they won't forget which party stands for election integrity and which party enables potential fraud. The 2026 midterms are approaching fast—will voters reward this kind of duplicitous behavior from Democrats who say one thing and do another?

47 Democrats just proved they don't want secure elections. Period.

They know they can't win fair and square. That's the only explanation that makes sense.

Can someone explain to me why this is even controversial? Every other democratic country requires voter ID and their elections run just fine. What am I missing here?

This is exactly why we can't trust Schumer's word on anything! Says one thing to the cameras then whips his caucus to vote the complete opposite way.

Classic Democrat playbook - tell the public what they want to hear then do whatever benefits their party.

I had to show my ID three times just to pick up a prescription last week, but somehow requiring it to vote is 'voter suppression'? Make it make sense.

Schumer talks out of both sides of his mouth depending on which way the political wind is blowing. At least now we have it on record where these 47 Democrats really stand on election integrity.
