Just three weeks into President Trump's second term, establishment Republicans are already showing their true colors by threatening to torpedo the America First agenda with the same backstabbing tactics that plagued his first administration.
Congressional Republicans are reportedly "revisiting the same intraparty tensions" that turned last year's historic tax reform into what the Washington Examiner called "a drawn-out and politically damaging saga." Translation: the swamp creatures are back to their old tricks of undermining the President who delivered them their majority.
House and Senate Republicans have begun discussing another reconciliation package – the party-line budget process that allowed Trump to pass his transformative tax cuts despite Democrat obstruction. But instead of rallying behind the President's vision, these so-called "conservatives" are already plotting ways to water down or block key priorities.
RINOs Put Politics Over Patriots
This is exactly the kind of establishment betrayal that drove millions of Americans to vote for Trump in the first place. While everyday patriots are struggling with inflation, open borders, and government overreach, these Washington insiders are more concerned with their own political positioning than delivering real results.
The reconciliation process represents Trump's best opportunity to fast-track critical America First policies without having to negotiate with radical Democrats. Whether it's completing the border wall, extending tax cuts for working families, or dismantling the administrative state through DOGE reforms, Republicans should be marching in lockstep behind their President.
"We have a mandate from the American people," one Trump ally told reporters. "The last thing we need is Republicans snatching defeat from the jaws of victory."
The same GOP moderates who dragged their feet on repealing Obamacare and fought Trump's immigration agenda are now positioning themselves to be the roadblock to conservative governance once again.
President Trump didn't win a decisive victory just to watch establishment Republicans play games with his agenda. Patriots across America are watching, and they'll remember which Republicans stood with Trump and which ones stood with the swamp when primary season rolls around.
