Virginia Democrats are getting a harsh reality check from their own constituents, as a new Heritage Action poll exposes massive opposition to their latest power grab disguised as "redistricting reform."
The poll shows a devastating 43 percent of Virginians are opposed to changing the state constitution through the Democrats' proposed referendum, while only 26 percent support the scheme. That's nearly a 2-to-1 rejection of what Democrats are trying to sell as "fair maps."
But here's what the left-wing politicians won't tell you: this isn't about fairness at all. It's about Democrats rigging the system in their favor after getting outmaneuvered in previous redistricting cycles. When Republicans win through legitimate political processes, suddenly Democrats discover a burning passion for "reform."
The Democrat Playbook Exposed
This is the same tired playbook we've seen from coast to coast. When Democrats control redistricting, it's "democracy in action." When they lose control, suddenly the whole system is corrupt and needs to be "reformed" – conveniently in ways that benefit their party.
Virginia patriots aren't buying it. They see through the manipulative language and understand that this constitutional change would hand more power to unelected bureaucrats and activist judges who will draw maps favorable to the radical left agenda.
"Virginians understand that changing our constitution shouldn't be done to benefit one political party over another," a Heritage Action spokesperson noted.
The fact that 31 percent of respondents remain undecided shows there's still work to be done in educating voters about what this referendum really means. Democrats are counting on voter confusion and misleading campaign rhetoric to slip this through.
Trump's Influence Still Strong
This poll result also reflects the continued influence of President Trump's America First movement in Virginia. Voters who supported Trump's decisive 2024 victory understand that Democrats can't be trusted with constitutional changes when they've spent years trying to undermine our electoral system.
The question now is whether Virginia Republicans will capitalize on this clear public opposition to expose the Democrats' gerrymandering scam once and for all. Will Virginia voters stand up to this constitutional power grab, or will they let Democrats manipulate them into giving away their voice in future elections?
