The mask is off, Patriots. Forty-seven Senate Democrats just voted against requiring photo ID to vote, exposing the lies of Minority Leader Chuck Schumer who previously claimed he supported voter identification measures.
On Thursday, Senator Jon Husted (R-OH) introduced a straightforward amendment to the Safeguarding American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) America Act that would require photo ID to vote – a common-sense measure supported by over 80% of Americans across party lines.
But when push came to shove, Democrats revealed their true agenda: keeping our elections as loose and unverifiable as possible.
Schumer's Hypocrisy EXPOSED
This vote makes Schumer look like the two-faced politician he's always been. The New York Democrat has previously gone on record claiming he supports voter ID, but when given the chance to back up his words with action, he and his caucus chose partisan politics over election integrity.
What kind of photo ID would satisfy this basic requirement? Driver's licenses, state-issued ID cards, military IDs, passports – the same documents Americans need for everything from flying to buying alcohol. Yet Democrats act like asking for ID to vote is somehow "voter suppression."
"Every American should have confidence that their vote counts and that our elections are secure," Senator Husted said. "Requiring photo ID is the most basic step we can take to ensure election integrity."
President Trump's administration has made election integrity a top priority, and it's clear why. When Democrats fight tooth and nail against the most basic election security measures, it raises serious questions about what they're trying to hide.
The Real Voter Suppression
Here's what Democrats don't want you to know: the real voter suppression happens when illegal votes cancel out the ballots of law-abiding American citizens. Every fraudulent vote suppresses a legitimate one.
While Democrats scream about "access," they ignore that states with voter ID laws have actually seen INCREASED voter turnout. Georgia, after implementing its election integrity measures, saw record turnout in subsequent elections.
The American people aren't buying the Democrats' excuses anymore. We see through their games. The question is: what are Chuck Schumer and his 46 allies so afraid of that they'll lie to the public about supporting voter ID, then vote against it when cameras aren't rolling?
It's time to hold these politicians accountable for their duplicity on the most fundamental right in our republic.
