While President Trump's administration is delivering on his promise of mass deportations, a familiar enemy is emerging to sabotage America's border security: weak-kneed Senate Republicans who care more about cocktail party invitations than protecting American citizens.
The real threat isn't whether Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Customs and Border Protection (CBP) can secure funding - it's whether spineless GOP senators will hand Democrats the keys to set conditions that gut enforcement from the inside out.
Sound familiar, Patriots? It should. We've watched this movie before during Trump's first term, when establishment Republicans promised to build the wall, then found every excuse to cave to Democrat demands and media pressure.
Same Swamp, Different Day
The pattern is predictable: Trump delivers bold action that puts America First, then RINOs in the Senate start wringing their hands about "optics" and "bipartisanship" while Democrats smell blood in the water. Before you know it, what should be a straightforward funding bill becomes a Christmas tree of liberal priorities.
Democrats don't need to win elections when they can count on weak Republicans to do their dirty work for them. These Senate squishes will gladly trade away enforcement mechanisms, add "humanitarian" loopholes, and water down deportation operations - all while claiming they "support" border security.
"The larger concern is not whether ICE and CBP can be funded, but whether Democrats will be allowed to set the conditions," warns one analysis. That's exactly right - and it's why the House must be prepared to hold the line when Senate Republicans inevitably start their surrender routine.
Patriots Demand Action
Americans delivered Trump a mandate to secure our borders and remove those who entered illegally. We didn't elect him so Senate Republicans could negotiate that mandate away in backroom deals with Chuck Schumer.
The House must be ready to force clean funding bills that give ICE and CBP everything they need without Democrat poison pills. No compromises, no conditions, no excuses.
Will Republican senators finally grow a backbone and support the president they claim to follow? Or will Patriots once again have to drag the GOP establishment kicking and screaming toward keeping their promises?
