Michael Whatley's Senate campaign in North Carolina is spiraling into disaster, with new polling showing the RNC Chairman trailing Democrat Roy Cooper by a devastating 14-point margin – and it's all thanks to the North Carolina GOP's stubborn refusal to clean house after a sex offender scandal.

According to a bombshell Catawba College/YouGov poll, Cooper leads Whatley 48% to 34% in what should be a competitive red state race. Even more damaging? Independents are breaking hard for Cooper by 19 points, while Whatley can only manage a measly 2-point lead among white voters in North Carolina.

The numbers tell a devastating story for Republicans. As one social media observer noted, "Trump's endorsements are not helping anymore! Red North Carolina might not be so red after all." The data shows Cooper leading "by a Massive margin" with independents abandoning the GOP in droves.

"Republican Party officials simply can't bring themselves to admit they made a mistake in allowing a convicted sex offender to become a leading fundraiser," according to sources familiar with the situation.

This is what happens when party establishments prioritize protecting their cronies over doing what's right. North Carolina Republicans had a chance to distance themselves from this toxic situation, but instead they've chosen to circle the wagons – and now they're paying the price at the ballot box.

The poll breakdown reveals the depth of Whatley's problems: Cooper leads by 73 points among Black voters, 26 points among women, and a stunning 31 points among college graduates. Perhaps most telling, even the generic congressional ballot shows Democrats leading Republicans 43% to 38% statewide.

This scandal perfectly illustrates why Trump's movement was necessary in the first place – too many Republican officials care more about protecting their insider networks than representing the values of everyday Americans. When party bosses refuse to take accountability for obvious mistakes, voters notice.

Will North Carolina Republicans finally clean house, or are they content to hand a winnable Senate seat to the Democrats? The clock is ticking, and voters are clearly losing patience with business-as-usual politics.

This is exactly why we need to thoroughly vet EVERYONE involved in campaigns. How did nobody catch this during the fundraiser planning? Our candidates deserve better than this kind of sabotage.

Agreed! This screams poor campaign management. Whatley needs to clean house and start over with his staff.

Praying for Michael Whatley during this difficult time. The left will use anything to destroy good conservative candidates - we can't let them win with dirty tactics like this.
