A federal watchdog is asking Americans to believe it was just a simple "oopsie" when the National Archives mysteriously released Democrat Governor Mikie Sherrill's unredacted military records during her gubernatorial campaign last fall.
The National Archives's inspector general determined Tuesday that the leak of Sherrill's sensitive information - including her Social Security number and home addresses - was due to "human error," not deliberate partisan interference. How convenient.
But here's what doesn't add up: In an era where federal agencies have been weaponized against conservatives and Trump supporters for years, we're supposed to believe this was just an innocent mistake? The same bureaucratic machine that spied on parents at school board meetings and targeted pro-life activists somehow "accidentally" compromised a Democrat's personal information?
The Deep State's Selective Incompetence
Patriots have watched federal agencies operate with laser precision when it comes to persecuting conservatives. The FBI can coordinate dawn raids on former presidents but can't properly handle basic document requests? The same National Archives that fought tooth and nail over Trump's presidential records somehow fumbled a routine FOIA response?
This reeks of the same "technical glitch" excuses we've heard for years whenever the administrative state gets caught with its hand in the cookie jar.
"The timing is awfully suspicious. These agencies never seem to make 'mistakes' that hurt the left's agenda," said one government accountability expert.
While Sherrill may have been the victim this time, don't expect this to wake her up to the dangers of an out-of-control federal bureaucracy. Democrats only care about government overreach when it affects them personally.
Where's the Accountability?
Of course, nobody will face consequences for this "error." That's how the swamp works - infinite excuses, zero accountability. Meanwhile, President Trump's administration continues working to drain this very swamp and restore competence to federal agencies.
The American people deserve better than convenient explanations and bureaucratic incompetence. When will these agencies finally be held to the same standards they impose on everyday patriots?
