The Department of Homeland Security just delivered a brutal reality check to Wisconsin Democrat Senator Tammy Baldwin after she played the race card to defend a detained Islamic leader who turned out to be a legitimate terror threat.
Baldwin rushed to social media crying foul when ICE agents detained Salah Sarsour, president of the Islamic Society of Milwaukee — the state's largest mosque. The progressive senator immediately assumed the worst about our immigration enforcement, suggesting Sarsour was targeted because of his "skin color or political beliefs."
Big mistake, Senator.
DHS didn't waste time setting the record straight, confirming that Sarsour is being held as a genuine security threat. "This terrorist will remain in ICE custody pending removal proceedings," officials stated, completely demolishing Baldwin's narrative that this was some kind of racial profiling.
"Baldwin accuses ICE of detaining the man based on his skin color or political beliefs," noted one social media user who called out the senator's knee-jerk reaction to defend the indefensible.
This is exactly the kind of dangerous, identity-politics nonsense that puts Americans at risk. Instead of trusting our law enforcement professionals who are doing their jobs under President Trump's restored America First agenda, Baldwin immediately assumes our ICE agents are racist.
Meanwhile, Baldwin's priorities are completely backwards. While she's crying racism over legitimate terror arrests, Americans are pointing out her real failures. "Dear Senator Baldwin... you took your 2nd paid recess in 40 days while DHS personnel go 40+ days without pay," one frustrated citizen posted. "They protect our homeland while you leave DC. This is unacceptable."
The numbers don't lie either. When it came time to fund DHS and TSA operations, Baldwin joined fellow Democrats in blocking critical funding — voting against cloture in a 47-53 decision that left only Fetterman crossing party lines to support our homeland security.
This is the Trump effect in action, folks. Our ICE agents are finally free to do their jobs without political interference, and it's driving Democrats absolutely insane. They'd rather defend potential terrorists than admit Trump's immigration policies are working exactly as promised.
