Once again, Congress has proven they're more interested in their vacation schedules than protecting the American people. As the Department of Homeland Security shutdown drags on, lawmakers are conducting useless "pro forma" sessions – essentially fake meetings designed to look like they're working while they're actually on recess.
The whole charade has Americans scratching their heads about Washington's bizarre obsession with these theatrical sessions. As one frustrated social media user put it bluntly: "If you morons feel the news to define 'pro forma' you need to define perfunctory too. Assholes..." The anger is palpable, and rightfully so.
Trump Left to Clean Up Congress's Mess AGAIN
Representative Chip Roy didn't mince words about this disgraceful situation, reportedly eviscerating Congress for constantly relying on President Trump to swoop in and fix their mistakes or complete inaction. Social media erupted with support for Roy's stance, with one user posting: "Trump now has to save DHS and Congress is on PAID VACATION!"
This is exactly the kind of swamp behavior that drove Americans to elect Trump in the first place. While our border remains under constant threat and DHS operations hang in limbo, these career politicians are more concerned with their parliamentary games than actually governing.
"Pro forma" sessions are nothing more than political theater – a way for Congress to pretend they're in session while avoiding any real work or accountability.
The American people deserve better than lawmakers who treat national security funding like a political football. While President Trump works tirelessly to secure our borders and protect American families, Congress plays word games and takes extended breaks on the taxpayers' dime.
How long will patriots tolerate a legislative branch that consistently fails to do its most basic job while expecting our President to clean up every mess they create? It's time for these do-nothing politicians to either step up or step aside.
