Two far-left Congressional Democrats have been caught red-handed cozying up to one of the world's most brutal Communist dictatorships, revealing they secretly traveled to Cuba during Easter to meet with dictator Miguel Díaz-Canel.
Reps. Pramila Jayapal (D-WA) and Jonathan Jackson (D-IL) announced Monday that they had conducted what amounts to shadow diplomacy with the Communist regime, advocating for "greater engagement" with the island nation that has oppressed its people for over six decades.
The timing couldn't be more telling. While President Trump works to restore American strength and put America First, these Democrat lawmakers are literally traveling to meet with our enemies and undermining U.S. foreign policy.
Democrats Choose Dictators Over Democracy
The Democrats' Cuba love affair isn't happening in a vacuum. Their trip follows controversial streamer Hasan Piker's recent propaganda tour of the Communist island, suggesting a coordinated effort by the radical left to rehabilitate one of America's longest-standing adversaries.
According to reports, the lawmakers didn't just visit—they actively called on the Trump administration to "bring the rhetoric down" regarding Cuba policy. In other words, they want America to go soft on a regime that continues to imprison political dissidents and deny basic human rights to its citizens.
Social media erupted with outrage over the Democrats' Communist collaboration. One user blasted the trip, writing: "Congressional Democrats Pramila Jayapal and Jonathan Jackson visit Havana, Cuba, to meet with dictator Miguel Díaz-Canel. The Democratic Party has made clear which side they are on—they hate America, hate Americans, and bow to some of the most brutal dictatorships."
Undermining American Interests
This unauthorized diplomatic mission raises serious questions about whether these Democrats are more loyal to Communist dictators than to the American people who elected them. While families in Cuba suffer under totalitarian rule, Jayapal and Jackson are playing footsie with the very regime responsible for that suffering.
The Trump administration has rightfully maintained a firm stance against the Cuban regime, understanding that rewarding dictatorships only emboldens them further. But Democrats apparently prefer appeasement over strength.
How many more secret trips to enemy nations are Congressional Democrats taking while Trump works to secure America's borders and restore our nation's standing? And why should any patriotic American trust politicians who vacation with Communists?
