A convicted ISIS terrorist who should have been stripped of his citizenship and deported years ago opened fire at Old Dominion University today, screaming "Allahu Akbar" as he targeted innocent students in yet another preventable attack on American soil.
Mohamed Bailor Jalloh, a naturalized citizen from Sierra Leone with a documented history of supporting Islamic terror, was thankfully subdued by heroic Army ROTC cadets before he could carry out maximum carnage. But the real question Americans are asking tonight is simple: Why was this jihadist still walking free in our country?
Social media erupted with outrage as details emerged. "🚨 BREAKING: The FBI says Old Dominion University shooter Mohamed Jalloh screamed 'ALLAHU AKHBAR' when opening fire on students today," posted @the_hunter1100. "Yet ANOTHER 'naturalized citizen' who NEVER SHOULD'VE BEEN HERE ESPECIALLY after supporting ISIS."
The System Failed - Again
This attack was entirely preventable. In 2015, Jalloh traveled to Africa and made contact with ISIS operatives in Nigeria. He began communicating with what he believed was a terrorist recruiter - who was actually an FBI informant. The feds arrested him, convicted him of providing material support to ISIS, and sentenced him to 11 years in federal prison.
Here's where the system catastrophically failed: Jalloh should have been immediately denaturalized upon conviction and deported the moment he walked out of prison. Instead, this known terrorist was allowed to remain on American soil, free to plot his next attack against innocent Americans.
"This is exactly why President Trump's immigration enforcement agenda is so critical. We cannot allow foreign-born terrorists to hide behind naturalized citizenship while plotting against the very country that welcomed them."
The heroic actions of those ROTC cadets likely saved countless lives today. But how many more Mohamed Jallohs are walking among us right now? How many other convicted terrorists has our broken immigration system failed to remove?
Patriots, denaturalizing and deporting terrorists shouldn't be complicated - it should be automatic. When will we finally put America First and protect our citizens from those who hate everything we stand for?
