Leave it to the Democrats to turn President Trump's foreign policy victory into an attack on America's interests. House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) appeared on CNN's "AC360" Tuesday night to trash Trump's Iran ceasefire breakthrough, calling the two-week pause "insufficient" and demanding a "permanent end" to hostilities – while making the outrageous claim that Trump might hand control of the vital Strait of Hormuz to the Iranian regime.

Instead of celebrating this diplomatic achievement that could save American lives, Jeffries chose to play politics with national security. The New York Democrat's comments reveal exactly why voters rejected his party's failed approach to foreign policy in 2024.

"The two-week Iran ceasefire is insufficient. We need a permanent end," Jeffries declared, apparently believing he knows better than the Trump administration's experienced diplomatic team led by Secretary of State Marco Rubio and National Security Advisor Mike Waltz.

Americans on social media aren't buying Jeffries' negativity. One Twitter user summed it up perfectly: "Typical Democrat, turn good news into political platform of negativity!" Another blasted Jeffries as "Once a douche bag always one" for his refusal to support successful Trump diplomacy.

"What a fckn surprise that this asswipe doesn't agree with the negotiations!!" posted another fed-up American, expressing the frustration many patriots feel watching Democrats root against America's success.

Jeffries' most concerning claim involves the Strait of Hormuz, the critical waterway through which roughly 20% of the world's oil passes. His suggestion that Trump might cede control to Iran appears to be pure fear-mongering designed to undermine public confidence in the President's Iran strategy.

This is the same Trump who eliminated Iranian terror chief Qasem Soleimani in his first term and rebuilt America's position of strength in the Middle East. The idea that he would now hand over strategic maritime chokepoints to our enemies is laughable – except Democrats aren't laughing, they're desperately trying to make it stick.

Once again, we're seeing the real Democrat playbook: when Trump succeeds, attack him anyway. When America wins, find a way to make it sound like losing. Patriots deserve better than politicians who put party before country.

I served in the Persian Gulf twice and know how critical the Strait of Hormuz is for global shipping. Trump understands you negotiate from a position of strength, not weakness like the previous administration.

Jeffries is just parroting the same old establishment talking points. When has giving Democrats control ever made our foreign policy stronger?

Never! Look at the disaster they created in Afghanistan.

Of course Jeffries is attacking Trump's success! They can't stand when he actually delivers peace through strength while they've been warmongering for decades.

Exactly! They'd rather have endless conflicts than give Trump any credit.

Finally a president who can actually broker peace deals instead of just throwing money at problems. The Middle East respects strength!
