DISGRACEFUL: Iowa Democrat Pastor Says 9/11 Made Her Worry About 'Anti-Muslim Bigotry'

A Democratic congressional candidate in Iowa has sparked outrage after revealing that her main takeaway from the September 11 terrorist attacks was concern about "anti-Muslim bigotry" rather than the nearly 3,000 Americans who were murdered by Islamic extremists.

Sarah Trone Garriott, a Lutheran minister seeking a House seat, made the tone-deaf comments in an opinion piece defending her controversial 2021 decision to read a Muslim prayer on the Iowa Senate floor. Instead of reflecting on the victims of 9/11 or the threat of radical Islamic terrorism, Garriott claimed the attacks made her more aware of "anti-Muslim bigotry" and the "harm" it supposedly caused.

This is exactly the kind of backwards thinking that has infected the modern Democratic Party. While most Americans remember 9/11 as a day when Islamic terrorists declared war on our way of life, Garriott apparently saw it as an opportunity to virtue signal about protecting the feelings of Muslims.

Misplaced Priorities

What's particularly disturbing is that Garriott is a supposed Christian minister who seems more concerned with political correctness than standing with her fellow Americans. The families who lost loved ones in the Twin Towers, Pentagon, and Flight 93 deserve better than having their tragedy weaponized for woke talking points.

"This is what passes for leadership in today's Democratic Party - turning America's darkest day into a lecture about tolerance for the very ideology that attacked us."

Garriott's comments reveal the twisted mindset of progressive politicians who consistently prioritize foreign interests and politically correct narratives over American lives. While President Trump has always put America First and taken a strong stance against radical Islamic terrorism, Democrats like Garriott are still playing the same tired game of cultural relativism.

Iowa voters deserve a representative who will honor the memory of 9/11 victims by fighting the terrorists who killed them - not someone who uses that tragedy to score political points with the woke mob. Will Iowans reject this disgraceful attempt to rewrite history?

Absolutely disgraceful! On the day 3,000 innocent Americans lost their lives, her first thought was about potential backlash? Where are her priorities?

Exactly right. The victims and their families should have been the ONLY concern that day.

I served three tours overseas after 9/11. This kind of thinking is exactly what's wrong with the modern Democratic party - always playing victim instead of standing with America.

Thank you for your service! My husband served too and this pastor's comments are a slap in the face to everyone who fought for this country.

What kind of pastor puts political correctness above mourning for murdered Americans? She needs to read her Bible more and CNN less.

Iowa used to be a solid red state with good Christian values. Now we have 'pastors' like this representing us? Vote them ALL out!

How is this woman even allowed to call herself a pastor? The complete lack of compassion for the actual victims is stunning.
