A damning op-ed has surfaced showing how far the radical left will go to rewrite history and blame America first – even when it comes to the worst terrorist attack on American soil. Iowa congressional candidate Sarah Trone Garriott, a Democrat running for office, penned a piece claiming that 9/11 made her more 'aware' of 'anti-Muslim bigotry' rather than the clear and present danger of Islamic extremism.

Think about that for a moment, Patriots. Nearly 3,000 innocent Americans were murdered by Islamic terrorists who hijacked planes and flew them into the Twin Towers and Pentagon, yet this Democrat's takeaway was concern about hurt feelings in the Muslim community.

This is exactly the kind of backwards, America-last thinking that President Trump and the MAGA movement have been fighting against. While normal Americans saw 9/11 as a wake-up call about the threat of radical Islamic terrorism, leftists like Garriott saw it as an opportunity to lecture Americans about tolerance.

The Left's Twisted Priorities on Full Display

Garriott's op-ed perfectly encapsulates everything wrong with the modern Democratic Party. Instead of focusing on protecting Americans from future terrorist attacks, she's more concerned with protecting the feelings of a religious group that harbors the very extremists who want to destroy our way of life.

"This mindset is exactly why we needed Trump back in the White House," said one GOP critic responding to the revelations. "While Democrats worry about offending terrorists, Trump actually keeps America safe."

Under the Trump-Vance administration, we've seen a return to common-sense national security policies that put American lives first. No more apologizing for protecting our borders or vetting immigrants from terror-prone nations.

The fact that Garriott thinks this op-ed helps her political prospects shows just how out of touch Iowa Democrats have become with everyday Americans who remember exactly what happened on September 11th – and who was responsible.

Will voters in Iowa reject this blame-America-first mentality, or will they reward politicians who think 9/11 was really about American bigotry?

This is exactly what's wrong with our political system today. How can someone who witnessed 9/11 come away thinking the real problem was bigotry against the people whose ideology motivated the attack? She's completely missing the point and frankly unfit for office.

Couldn't agree more. It's like she learned the exact opposite lesson from that tragic day.

I lost two friends in Afghanistan fighting the very terror threat she apparently doesn't think exists. How does someone like this even get nominated?

Thank you for your friends' service and I'm sorry for your loss. These politicians have no idea what real sacrifice looks like.

So sorry for your loss. Your friends are heroes and deserved better than politicians who refuse to acknowledge why they had to fight.
