Senator Rick Scott is calling on President Donald Trump to immediately revoke Yale University's federal funding after the elite institution invited far-left Twitch streamer Hasan Piker – who previously said the Florida Republican should be "killed" – to speak on campus.
The controversy erupted when Yale announced Piker would be featured at a university event, despite his history of violent rhetoric against conservative lawmakers. Piker, known for his radical socialist views and inflammatory statements, has built a following among young leftists with his extreme anti-American commentary.
"It's absolutely disgraceful that an institution receiving millions in taxpayer dollars would platform someone who has called for violence against a sitting U.S. Senator," Scott said in a statement demanding immediate action from the Trump administration.
This is exactly the kind of woke extremism that President Trump promised to root out of America's educational institutions. Yale, like many Ivy League schools, has become a breeding ground for anti-American sentiment while sucking up massive amounts of federal funding that could be better spent on programs that actually benefit hardworking Americans.
Another Example of Academic Rot
The invitation to Piker represents everything wrong with our corrupt higher education system. These elite universities take taxpayer money with one hand while promoting violence against conservative leaders with the other. It's a slap in the face to every American who works hard and plays by the rules.
Yale receives hundreds of millions in federal grants and contracts annually – money that comes directly from the paychecks of patriots who would be appalled to know their tax dollars are subsidizing platforms for violent leftist rhetoric.
Senator Scott's demand puts the spotlight squarely on President Trump, who has already shown he's willing to take on the woke education establishment. During his campaign, Trump promised to "reclaim our hijacked universities" and redirect funding away from institutions that hate America.
Will Trump follow through and send a clear message that taxpayer dollars won't fund platforms for violent extremists? Patriots across the country are watching – and they expect action, not just words.
