House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries and former Speaker Nancy Pelosi are desperately trying to contain a political wildfire, demanding Friday that Rep. Eric Swalwell (CA-14) immediately suspend his campaign for California governor amid explosive sexual assault allegations from a former staffer.
But here's what these swamp creatures conveniently left out of their carefully crafted statements: not one word about whether Swalwell should resign from Congress entirely.
That's right, folks. The same Democrats who screamed for President Trump's removal over unproven allegations are now playing damage control for one of their own. They're perfectly fine with Swalwell keeping his congressional seat and security clearance — you know, the same guy who was compromised by Chinese spy Fang Fang for years.
The allegations against Swalwell are serious and detailed, involving a former female staffer who worked closely with the California Democrat. But instead of calling for a full investigation or his immediate resignation from all positions, Pelosi and Jeffries are trying to have it both ways.
"This selective outrage from Democratic leadership exposes their complete hypocrisy. Where was this swift action when Swalwell was literally sleeping with the enemy?"
Remember, this is the same Eric Swalwell who spent years pushing the Russia collusion hoax while being compromised by Chinese intelligence. The same Swalwell who Democrats kept on the House Intelligence Committee despite warnings from the FBI about his relationship with suspected spy Christine Fang.
Now that his gubernatorial ambitions threaten to become a liability for the party, suddenly Democrats develop a conscience? Please.
The timing couldn't be worse for California Democrats, who were already facing an uphill battle to maintain their stranglehold on the Golden State. With President Trump's policies delivering real results and California residents fleeing the state in droves, Democrats needed a clean candidate who could sell their failed agenda.
Instead, they got Swalwell — a walking scandal magnet who exemplifies everything wrong with the Democratic establishment.
The question Patriots should be asking isn't why Pelosi and Jeffries want him out of the governor's race. It's why they're still protecting his position in Congress, where he has access to our nation's most sensitive intelligence.
How long will Americans tolerate this two-tiered justice system where Democrats get second chances while conservatives get destroyed?
