In a display of pure delusion that would make even North Korea's propaganda machine blush, Cuban dictator Miguel Díaz-Canel told NBC News that his oppressed people would willingly die defending the communist regime that has terrorized them for nearly seven decades.
The figurehead "president" of the failed island nation actually had the audacity to claim that any U.S. military intervention would be met by Cubans eager to sacrifice their lives for the very system that has denied them basic freedoms, food, and hope since 1959.
Let's get real here, folks. This is the same regime that has forced millions of Cubans to risk their lives on makeshift rafts in shark-infested waters just to escape the communist "paradise." The same government that shoots people trying to flee and throws dissidents in prison for daring to speak the truth.
The Reality Check These Tyrants Need
While Díaz-Canel spouts his propaganda nonsense to American media, actual Cubans continue to suffer under one of the most oppressive regimes in the Western Hemisphere. They lack basic necessities like food, medicine, and electricity while the communist elite live in luxury.
"Any military attempt from the United States to depose him would be met by Cubans willing to die for the communist regime," the dictator claimed. What a joke. The only people willing to die for this regime are the secret police and party officials who profit from keeping 11 million people in chains.
"This is exactly the kind of delusional thinking we see from every failed communist dictator throughout history – they actually believe their own propaganda."
With President Trump back in the White House and his America First foreign policy team in place, maybe it's time to remind these tin-pot dictators that their days of thumbing their noses at freedom are numbered. The Cuban people deserve better than 67 years of communist oppression disguised as revolutionary virtue.
How long will the international community continue to enable these regimes that crush the human spirit while their leaders live like kings?
