The swamp creature has finally shed her disguise. Olivia Troye, the backstabbing former adviser to Mike Pence who turned against President Trump in 2020, announced Tuesday she's running for Congress in Virginia – as a Democrat.
Troye, who served as Pence's homeland security and counterterrorism adviser, resigned her position in 2020 and immediately began attacking the Trump administration that gave her a career. Now, she's making it official by switching parties entirely to run for a House seat as a Democrat.
This move surprises absolutely no one who's been paying attention. Troye has spent the last six years cozying up to the liberal media, appearing on CNN and MSNBC to bash Trump while portraying herself as some kind of principled conservative. But her actions have always revealed the truth – she's just another establishment RINO who couldn't stomach Trump's America First agenda disrupting the Washington gravy train.
From Swamp Creature to Full Democrat
Troye's transformation from supposed Republican to full-blown Democrat perfectly illustrates what President Trump has been saying all along about the deep state and establishment politicians. These people have no real principles – they'll switch sides the moment it becomes politically convenient.
During Trump's first term, Troye was one of many government officials who actively worked against the president from within his own administration. Now, with Trump back in the White House for his second term and the MAGA movement stronger than ever, she's desperately trying to stay relevant by joining the opposition party.
"This is exactly what we've come to expect from disgruntled former officials who couldn't handle Trump's outsider approach to draining the swamp," said one conservative analyst.
Virginia patriots deserve better than a opportunistic party-switcher who abandoned her supposed principles the moment the political winds shifted. Troye's candidacy represents everything wrong with Washington – career politicians who will say or do anything to maintain their grip on power.
Will Virginia voters see through this obvious political stunt, or will they reward another establishment swamp creature with a seat in Congress? The answer will tell us a lot about whether the Old Dominion is ready to truly embrace the America First movement.
