House China Committee Chairman Rep. John Moolenaar is raising serious concerns that commercial satellite imagery may have been exploited by Iran to conduct precision strikes against a U.S. air base, exposing a dangerous vulnerability in our national security infrastructure that the Biden administration ignored for years.

The Michigan Republican's warning comes as intelligence officials examine whether readily available commercial satellite data provided Iranian forces with the targeting intelligence needed to carry out their attack on American personnel. This represents a massive intelligence failure that could have been prevented with proper oversight.

Commercial Tech Turned Into Weapons

"We're looking at a situation where commercial satellite companies may be inadvertently providing our enemies with the tools to target our brave men and women in uniform," a source familiar with the investigation told reporters. "This is exactly the kind of threat we should have been preparing for."

The revelation highlights how America's adversaries are weaponizing civilian technology against us while our own government agencies were too busy pursuing woke agendas under the previous administration to focus on real threats to national security.

"Iran doesn't need to hack our classified systems when they can just buy satellite images on the open market and use them to kill Americans," one defense analyst noted.

This intelligence breakdown underscores why President Trump's America First approach to national security is so critical. While the deep state was focused on targeting Trump supporters, real enemies were plotting attacks using tools hiding in plain sight.

Trump Administration Must Act

The Trump-Vance administration now faces the urgent task of closing these security gaps that were ignored for four years. With leaders like Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and National Security Advisor Mike Waltz in place, Americans can be confident that these vulnerabilities will be addressed with the seriousness they deserve.

How many more security failures from the Biden era will the Trump team have to clean up before our forces are truly safe? And why did it take a Republican congressman to sound the alarm on this obvious threat to American lives?

We've been warning about the national security risks of unregulated satellite imagery for years. Time for Congress to act before more American lives are lost.

This is exactly why we need stronger oversight of commercial satellite companies. How are we allowing foreign adversaries to potentially use our own technology against our troops?

Couldn't agree more. I served two tours in the Middle East and the idea that Iran could be using commercial satellites to target our bases is deeply troubling.
