CATHOLIC SCHOLAR: Trump Has MORAL AUTHORITY for Just War Against Iran's Terror Regime

A prominent Catholic scholar is making waves by arguing that President Trump would have full moral authority under centuries-old Catholic Just War Doctrine to take decisive military action against Iran's terrorist regime.

Father Gerald Murray, one of America's foremost Catholic thinkers and expert on the Church's Just War teachings, penned a compelling piece in The Free Press declaring that "it is a virtuous act to take up arms in defense of the nation against an unjust aggressor."

And folks, if Iran's mullahs don't qualify as "unjust aggressors," then who does?

Iran's Reign of Terror

For decades, Iran has been the world's leading state sponsor of terrorism, funding proxy groups that have killed American soldiers, threatened our ally Israel, and destabilized the entire Middle East. Under the failed Biden regime, Iran grew bolder, faster-tracking their nuclear weapons program while Biden begged them to return to Obama's disastrous nuclear deal.

Now President Trump is back in the White House, and the ayatollahs know their free ride is over.

"The Just War Doctrine provides clear moral guidelines for when military force is not only permissible but morally necessary to protect innocent life and defend against tyranny," Murray argues.

The Catholic Church's Just War principles require that military action be taken by legitimate authority (check), have just cause (defending against terrorism), be a last resort (diplomacy has failed for 45 years), and have reasonable chance of success (America's military is unmatched).

Iran checks every box as a regime that deserves to face American military might.

Trump's Moral Clarity

Unlike his predecessor who sent pallets of cash to Tehran in the dead of night, President Trump understands that strength prevents war and weakness invites it. The mullahs respected Trump's resolve during his first term – and they'll respect it again.

Patriots across America are tired of watching our enemies grow stronger while previous administrations played patty-cake diplomacy. Sometimes righteous force is the only language tyrants understand.

When even Catholic scholars are saying Trump has moral authority to act decisively against Iran's terror regime, maybe it's time our enemies started paying attention.

Peace through strength! Trump understands what weak leadership has cost us.

Finally someone with theological credentials is speaking truth! Iran has been terrorizing the Middle East for decades while funding proxy wars. Sometimes just war doctrine is the only moral response to such evil.

Exactly right. I served three tours and saw firsthand what Iranian-backed militias do to innocent civilians.

This aligns perfectly with Aquinas's principles of just war theory. The scholar is absolutely correct that we have both the right intention and just cause here.

About time we had moral clarity on this issue! What specific actions would constitute proportional response under just war doctrine though?

Good question - I think targeted strikes on military infrastructure would meet the proportionality test without escalating to full invasion.
