Mark Cuban, billionaire businessman and outspoken Democrat surrogate, might finally be realizing that his side is as out of touch as it gets. Back in 2024, Cuban embarked on a quixotic mission to sell Kamala Harris' economic agenda, hitting the airwaves to insist she was the pro-business, pro-entrepreneurship candidate. Ironically, his pitches felt more like desperation than conviction.
In September 2024, Cuban appeared on CNBC, claiming, "Vote Democrat if you want a pro-business agenda," only for his words to largely fall on deaf ears. His attempts were memorialized in a tweet by @WesternLensman, who reminded us of Cuban's insistent yet hollow rhetoric:
"Sep 2024. Kamala Harris campaign surrogate Mark Cuban tells CNBC that Kamala is the pro-business, pro-entrepreneurship candidate. Vote Democrat if you want a pro-business agenda, he insisted just two years ago."
Following a humbling election cycle that saw a decisive victory for the Trump-Vance administration and Republicans overall, Cuban announced he would retreat from the political fray. Yet, like clockwork, he returned to his anti-Trump bravado on social media, seemingly undeterred by past failures.
What’s hard to digest is why Cuban continues this charade. Is it blind allegiance to a party that woefully misunderstands the heartbeat of American enterprise, or misplaced loyalty to progressive elites whose policies stifle innovation and individual liberty?
Conservatives have long challenged the notion that Democratic economic policies benefit businesses. Cuban's floundering defense of them only helps highlight their ineffectiveness. Instead of promoting genuine growth, the left's agenda prioritizes regulations, taxes, and social engineering over market-driven success.
As Trump's second term pushes forward with an America First agenda touting deregulation and energy dominance, Cuban’s advocacy seems even more misplaced. Perhaps it's time for Cuban to reconsider who truly champions free enterprise and entrepreneurship. Could this be his wake-up call?
